About
I believe mental health is deeply personal and ever-changing. It lives in our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and sense of identity, shaping how we experience the world and ourselves within it. My passion for this work comes from a belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, understood, and supported, especially those who have not yet learned how to advocate for themselves. Children are often misunderstood when their struggles are labeled as “bad behavior” rather than recognized as signals of emotional pain or unmet needs. I see therapy as a space where those experiences can finally be named, explored, and met with compassion. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working as a Psychotherapist with individuals ranging in age from 5 to 81. Each person brings a unique story, and I approach therapy as a collaborative process rooted in trust, safety, and respect. I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, while also allowing room for honest conversation, curiosity, and reflection. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthier coping tools, and feel empowered to create meaningful change in their lives. My work in substance use treatment has been especially close to my heart. As a Substance Use Counselor, I’ve supported individuals through the challenges of recovery by developing person-centered treatment plans, completing comprehensive clinical and biopsychosocial assessments, and helping connect clients to supportive community resources. I strive to meet people where they are—without judgment—while honoring their strength, resilience, and courage. What most deeply shapes the way I practice is my own lived experience. With 24 years of personal recovery from drugs and alcohol, I know firsthand how transformative it can be to feel genuinely supported during the most vulnerable moments of life. The compassion extended to me during my own journey continues to inspire how I show up for others—with empathy, patience, and hope. I believe healing is possible, and it is a privilege to walk alongside others as they move toward greater balance, understanding, and well-being.
