Thank you for visiting my profile, If you hope to make a change in your life to improve your emotional health and wellbeing through supportive therapy; I look forward to our partnership. I am from the Caribbean and moved to Florida with my family in 1997. I am currently a registered Clinical Social Worker Intern with 15 years of experience working in Mental & Behavioral Health, Substance Addiction, Child Welfare and most recently working with women impacted by domestic violence and intimate partner violence. When I am not working, I like to design and create art. I also run and occasionally read biographies of interesting people past or present. My approach to therapy is similar to the way I live my life, balancing work with self-care.

Personal Experience
My life experiences, challenges and personal growth have equipped me with a sense of awareness, openness and insight to connect with others. I understand that lived experiences do not define who we are but can shape, motivate, and strengthen our resolve ultimately building resilience. I know many of you are faced with challenges and need support; someone to listen, encourage and motivate you to work through your daily life struggles to find solutions. In treatment, clients will be provided with tools to do so, in a supportive setting. Being able to manage life’s issues requires change, learning coping skills, new habits and creating a vision for your life that is fulfilling and rewarding. Treatment can help clients understand the impact of negative thoughts/emotions on their behavior. Working together, clients will learn ways to reshape and reframe these thoughts/emotions before they cause distress and impede their ability to function. Treatment also will help client move toward a better future through goal setting where they can create a new path forward and foster change by creating new stories from their life experience.
